My name is Elif Aran Kayra, I didn’t always work as an acupuncturist. I started out in the corporate world as a software engineer, used to logic, structure, and fixing problems by analyzing them.
When my first daughter was born, my life changed. I experienced fatigue and low mood for almost one full year, although there were no "medical" issues identified, I simply felt like I was not myself.
Somebody recommended acupuncture and it completely turned my world around. I gradually began to regain my energy, improve my mood, and begin to have a feeling of grounding in my body again. This shift had such a profound impact on me and led me to pursue what later became my passion, Chinese Medicine and acupuncture.
I graduated from Shenzhou University of TCM and later founded BlueSky Acupuncture in Amsterdam. Digestive health has been one of the main focuses of my practice from the beginning, alongside women’s health, hormonal balance and fertility. Today, I also serve as an Accredited External Apprenticeship Supervisor for Shenzhou University of TCM.

Elif is helping me with a variety of issues - the first she addressed was my frequent headaches where I would become quite light-sensitive and found it difficult to function effectively. After a few treatments, my headaches reduced in intensity (very relieving) and frequency. I continue to see Elif to find a better inner balance, amongst other issues.
Elif's therapy has also recently provided me immediate relief from a muscular sprain in my back (mostly resolved after 1 treatment, fully after 3 treatments).
Each treatment session is like a power nap - I feel both mentally and physically energised yet relaxed, my mind is lighter and clearer and I feel ready to take on the world. Her calm energy also brings a sense of healing to the treatments, which I find very important.
Highly recommended even if you don't have specific complaints - Elif will find aspects of your body where you could use more support and will address them.
