Shonishin is a term used for Japanese pediatric acupuncture. It is believed to have started a medical family treatment 350 years ago. The basic tools used for Shonishin involves tapping, stroking, rubbing or pressing.

WHO IS IT FOR?

It is suitable for babies and children, 0-12 years old. For kids older than 12 years old, methods used for adults are adapted to the needs of the child.
WHAT CONDITIONS CAN BE TREATED?
- Digestion problems, colic
- Sleep problems
- Behavioral problems
- Low immune system, frequent colds
- Food allergies
- Bedwetting
MY CHILD DOES NOT LIKE NEEDLES, WHAT THEN?

Acupuncture is a theory not a technique therefore the necessary acupuncture points can be stimulated with a soft laser or electronic stimulant pen. Press tack needles (0.3 mm diameter sticker needles) are placed on certain body and/or ear points if necessary. Each treatment is modified according to the child's needs and temperament. For small babies, stroking and tapping methods might even be enough.
