Hay fever, known as seasonal allergic rhinitis, is caused by allergies to plant pollen. Symptoms include stuffy or runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and ear or throat irritation.

For people with hay fever, during spring and summer, the symptoms can siginificantly affect the daily quality of life. People are especially prone to it if they have another allergic condition such as asthma or eczema, or if these conditions run in the family.

According to Chinese Medicine, Hay Fever is due to a deficiency of Qi (the body’s essential energy) and an invasion of Wind-Heat in the Lung.
